The organisation of Cultural Enterprises II (EMMA)

The organisation of Cultural Enterprises II (EMMA)

The structure of a company can take on different shapes. This course presents the main existing possibilities, looking at them from the inside: the presented examples are directly related to cultural heritage. Knowing the different organizational structures becomes a winning weapon to better address the internal and external dynamics of any organization.

The course is a natural continuation of the previous "The organization of cultural enterprises I" and provides a detailed analysis of the organizational structures already studied. This perspective allows you to better understand how these organizations work and how they deal with external factors, making sure to turn them into something positive and, why not, productive, for the structure. The theoretical overview will proceed in parallel with the analysis of case studies and practical examples from the contemporary world of cultural heritage.

Learning Objectives:
The course aims to illustrate the various methods of organization possible within a company.
The educational objectives are therefore:

  • Knowledge of the main models of organizational structure;
  • The ability to recognize what is the most suitable structure, depending on the context.

Outcomes:
The course allows you to recognize the different organizational structures and learn how to choose the most suitable depending on the context, and to make the most of available human resources at any given time.

Management of Urban Infrastructures – part 1 (Coursera)

Sustainability, Resilience and Efficiency are fundamental considerations for city managers in managing urban infrastructures. Today, more than 3.9 billion people, making up more than 54% of the global population, live in cities. Urbanization is expected to continue in the coming years, raising the urban population to 6.0 billion by 2045. This dramatic increase in urban populations will inevitably increase the demand for energy, mobility (transportation), water, and other urban services in every city around the world. Without functional governance and management structures that ensure efficient, resilient and sustainable performance in cities, the current urbanization growth might become a catastrophic risk threatening the quality of life of the humanity.
