Uso prudente de antimicrobianos en el entorno hospitalario (Coursera)

La resistencia a los antimicrobianos es actualmente un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial, que se incrementa debido al uso inadecuado de antimicrobianos en diferentes escenarios, uno de estos es durante la atención en salud en un entorno hospitalario, u otro centro de atención médica, escenario en el cual el uso inadecuado de antimicrobianos puede generar adicionalmente eventos dañinos o no deseados a nivel individual, en el paciente. Este curso busca fortalecer los conocimientos sobre el uso adecuado de antimicrobianos del personal del área de la salud que en su práctica diaria pueda estar involucrado en los procesos de prescripción, administración y control de este grupo de medicamentos.

Este curso ha sido elaborado por docentes de Infectología del Departamento de Medicina Interna de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, dividido en ocho módulos con una duracion total del curso de aproximadamente 18 horas, que al completar con éxito esperamos le permitan afianzar sus conocimientos para realizar un adecuado proceso de prescripción, administración y control de antimicrobianos en su práctica diaria. En este curso encontrará el material en formatos multimedia y PDF que le permite una mejor interacción con el curso y a su vez facilita la consulta del mismo; además, encontrara artículos en español e inglés de fácil lectura que le servirán para afianzar conocimientos y medio de consulta.

What You Will Learn

  • En este curso aprenderas los principios de farmacología, resistencia de los antimicrobianos y aspectos clave a considerar durante su uso.
  • El uso recomendado de antimicrobianos en neumonía, infección intraabdominal, urinaria, de piel y tejidos blandos y en la profilaxis quirúrgica.
  • Principios de los Programas de Optimización de uso de Antimicrobianos y de la prevención y el control de infecciones en el entorno hospitalario.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
Módulo 0 y 1
En esta semana se revisaran dos módulos, en el módulo de generalidades se realizará la presentación y bienvenida al curso; y en el módulo 1 se realizará un recorrido por los conceptos de antimicrobiano, su clasificación, su farmacocinética y farmacodinamia, los parámetros farmacocinéticos/farmacodinámicos (PK/PD), y finalmente los mecanismos de desarrollo y propagación de resistencia a los antimicrobianos.

WEEK 2
Módulo 2 y 3
En esta semana se revisaran dos módulos, en el módulo 2 se realizará un recorrido por los principales factores a tener en cuenta al momento de considerar el uso de antimicrobianos, se presentan los Programas de Optimización de Uso de Antimicrobianos (PROA), como una herramienta de apoyo; y en el módulo 3 se darán a conocer las principales recomendaciones para el diagnóstico y tratamiento antimicrobiano de pacientes adultos con neumonía adquirida en la comunidad (NAC).

WEEK 3
Módulo 4 y 5
En esta semana se revisaran dos módulos, en el módulo 4 se darán a conocer las principales recomendaciones para el diagnóstico y tratamiento antimicrobiano de pacientes adultos con infecciones de piel y tejidos blandos; y en el módulo 5 se realizará un recorrido por las principales recomendaciones para el diagnóstico y tratamiento antimicrobiano de pacientes adultos con infección intraabdominal.

WEEK 4
Módulo 6 y 7
En esta semana se revisaran dos módulos, en el módulo 6 se darán a conocer las principales recomendaciones para el diagnóstico y tratamiento antimicrobiano de pacientes adultos con infecciones del tracto urinario no complicadas; y en el módulo 7 se realizará un recorrido por las principales recomendaciones de profilaxis antimicrobiana en pacientes adultos llevados a cirugía.

WEEK 5
Módulo 8
En esta semana se revisara un módulo, en el cual abordarán las principales estrategias de prevención y control de infecciones en el entorno hospitalario como son la higiene de manos, el uso de elementos de protección personal y la limpieza y desinfección de superficies.
