Art teacher and watercolor enthusiast Merry Skyer guides you through how to paint a happy chicken in watercolor. This course is perfect for beginners yet still fun for advanced painters. This course will guide you to paint chickens step by step and show you lots of fun techniques that you can use in any watercolor painting!

For our class project, we'll be using the techniques you learn to paint a watercolor chicken! You can easily use these techniques to paint an entire flock of chickens if you feel so inclined!
In the videos, I'll show you how to paint monochromatic (one color) chickens with a variety of values and shades.
If you'd like to try painting these chickens in all different colors or doing some color mixing, I say go for it! I'd love to see how creative you can be with this project!
To the right, under resources, you'll find the printable file called hen flock outline. Before you begin the class, be sure to print this so you're ready to transfer the image to your watercolor paper before you begin painting.
I've also included a copy of the sample painting that I made in the resources section. This can be used as a guide while you work on your painting, but please remember, watercolors can have a mind of their own, and your finished product may not look just like mine, and that's perfectly fine!
