Run business experiments. The A/B Testing course provides students with the foundational knowledge to design and analyze A/B tests to create business insights and support decision making. This course is ideal for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in business analysis, but lacks programming experience.

You will learn:

  • The fundamental principles of experiment design
  • How to design and analyze randomized design experiments
  • How to design and analyze matched-pair design experiments

Throughout this course you’ll also learn the techniques to apply your knowledge in a data analytics program called Alteryx.
Predictive analytics has proved to be a powerful tool to help businesses analyze data and predict future outcomes and trends. In this course, you’ll learn how to use A/B tests to predict the success of new product roll-outs, calculate the impact of website feature changes, and generate insights for other types business problems.
You'll learn this through improving your fluency in Alteryx, a data analytics tool that enables you prepare, blend, and analyze data quickly.
This course is part of the Business Analyst Nanodegree.

What You Will Learn

Lesson 1
A/B Testing Fundamentals

  • Learn how to select control and treatment units and variables for A/B tests.
  • Select the correct experiment design for an A/B test.

Lesson 2
Randomized Design Tests

  • Learn how to select the unit of diversion and duration for a randomized test.
  • Select variables for a randomized experiment.
  • Be able to interpret randomized design experiment results.

Lesson 3
Matched Pair Design Tests

  • Learn how to match control units to treatment units.
  • Determine the duration of the test.
  • Interpret matched pair design experiment results.

Lesson 4
Matched Pair Practice

  • Go through an end to end example of a matched pair A/B test.
  • Get step by step instruction to set up and analyze the test.
  • Use trends to match target and control units.

Prerequisites and Requirements
No programming experience required.
Interested in using data to make better business decisions.
Alteryx license (provided to Nanodegree students at no cost, compatible with Windows only).
