Dr. Fränzel van Duijnhoven performs research focused on the role of lifestyle factors, including nutrition, in the development and progression of sporadic colorectal cancer as well as in the development of hereditary colorectal cancer. This includes investigating underlying mechanisms by evaluating associations of lifestyle factors in particular (genetic) subgroups or by evaluating gene-lifestyle interactions in an epidemiological setting.
