Unreal Engine Interactive 3D: Sequencer-Cinematography, Interfaces, Visual Effects, Pipelines, and Production (edX)

Learn techniques in cinematography, Interface design, visual effects, collaboration and organization, basic optimization and publishing, as well as exciting emerging connections. In this course, you will learn about the Unreal Sequencer as we focus on cinematography. We will set up cameras, lenses, track and jibs to frame shots and create cinematics. You will learn the Unreal Motion Graphics (UMG) for user interface design, and together we will build a Heads Up Display (HUD) as well as an “in-game” interface (useful for VR and AR).

You’ll get an overview of visual effects, building on content from UNRL 101 and 102, plus adding new simulations and effects with the Unreal Chaos Engine and Niagara Particles.
You’ll learn best practices for virtual and in-person collaboration with an introduction to SCRUM quality production workflow, including discussion around various source control asset and animation pipelines. You’ll see a showcase of technology including a virtual reality (VR) template and Quixel mixer tools. Finally, you’ll review optimization strategies and package your interactive work into a runtime executable.
This course is part of the Unreal Engine Foundations Professional Certificate.

What you'll learn
● How to use the Unreal Sequencer to generate pre-visualizations, cinematics, and visual effects
● Integrate (UMG) Unreal Motion Graphics tools for building (HUDs) Heads up displays as well as 3D interfaces
● Basic tools and principles of visual effects: Chaos Engine, Niagara Particles

Human-Computer Interaction III: Ethics, Needfinding & Prototyping (edX)

Build on your knowledge of HCI’s core principles by learning to design interfaces in the real world. Begin with the ethics of human subjects research, then learn critical methods for requirements gathering and brainstorming design alternatives. In this course, you’ll begin by learning the design life cycle. This is the process by which we investigate user needs, brainstorm potential designs, create prototypes, and evaluate those prototypes. This life cycle provides the structure for the third and fourth courses in this professional certificate.

Managing an Agile Team (Coursera)

While agile has become the de facto standard for managing digital innovation teams, many wonder if they’re doing it ‘right’. Twitter is full of jokes about how teams say they do agile but don’t ‘really’ do it. The reality is that getting the most out of agile is less about observing specific procedures and more about how a team focuses and measures their progress. Rather than just boring you with an accounting of agile methodologies, this course focuses on helping you better charter your team’s focus, definition of success, and practice of agile.

Introduction to Hardware and Operating Systems (Coursera)

Organizations need workers who can help others with computer hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Healthcare organizations are still converting to digitized systems, requiring more IT support. Workers are retiring, and organizations are contracting workers through IT consultancies rather than in-house IT technicians. With remote and hybrid work here to stay, organizations must provide employees with the devices and support they need to remain connected and productive. Additionally, IT support roles are often a steppingstone that enables employees to grow into higher-paying IT careers.
