In this Skillshare class you’ll learn how to brush letter using Tombow USA Fudenosuke Colors Brush Pens, and design creative colorful lettered pieces using easy, but impressive techniques! Your class project will be your choice of creating a rainbow gradient lettered piece or a 3-dimensional lettering piece. Lettering artists of ALL skill levels are invited to join this class.
If you have no previous lettering experience, this will be a fantastic introductory class. If you have been lettering for awhile, I invite you to join in, get a lettering refresher, and follow along in creating a class project with the techniques taught in class.
As someone who has been stuck in the 'black and white' rut many times before, using color in my lettering and art is the EASIEST way to shake things up and reenergize my creativity for lettering.
Design a lettered piece using the Fudenosuke Colors (taught in class), choosing between two techniques also taught in class. (Or comple them both if you're feeling fancy!)
- Rainbow Lettering Gradient (taught in Lesson 3)
- 3-Dimensional Lettering (Taught in Lesson 4)
With both class projects, you will create a colorful piece fit for the wall, the front of a handmade card, or your Instagram feed. I used the same quote for both, "Life is art. Live yours in color."
This project will promote practice of brush lettering in general (proper use of a brush pen, proper technique), as well as lightly touching on sketching, layout, and creating an attention-grabbing piece using easy techniques.
