- Tips on using PowerPoint, including content, colors, and font size, etc.
- Proper ways to dress for a presentation and things to avoid
- The types of questions to ask your audience members
- How to use proper hand gestures during your presentation
- What kind of demeanor is most important when giving a presentation or sales pitch
- Strategies on practicing and polishing your material
Build You Own Slide Deck
1- Start with the slide deck provided. This deck already includes a black background and some preconfigured slides. Uses the tips provided in the "Using PowerPoint Effectively" to customize these slides.
Remember to do the following:
- Keep your slides simple and short
- Use 30-point or greater font
- Keep your fonts consistent
- Use relevant images / graphs
- Don't use too many transitions
2- Practice your presentation through at least 5 times using the tips provided in the video titled "Practicing Your Presentation." As you practice your presentation, commit to memory the key points so you only need to glance at your slide once to present the content.
