El curso te da las herramientas básicas para identificar los desafíos estratégicos de una organización, evaluar la importancia de estos desafíos, y armar el plan de prioridades de modo de hacer frente exitosamente a esos desafíos. Dentro de todas las empresas que existen, el curso se focaliza en aquellas cuyo producto o servicio tiene algún grado de diferenciación con respecto a los competidores de la industria en la que se desenvuelve.

El curso tiene un enfoque único, mezclando modelos conceptuales que permiten identificar los desafíos actuales y predecir los de mediano plazo, junto con ejemplificaciones prácticas que permiten llevar a la práctica los modelos conceptuales.
El curso no tiene requisitos previos. Sin embargo, la materia que trata (los desafíos estratégicos de una organización) puede requerir del alumno cierta capacidad de síntesis que dificulte la comprensión de aquellos que tienen muy baja exposición a la realidad empresarial. Los alumnos que tienen o han tenido exposición a realidades empresariales o que están estudiando o han estudiado carreras afines abordarán el curso con mayor facilidad.

What You Will Learn

  • Aplicar el modelo básico de la evolución de una industria cuyo producto es susceptible de diferenciación a una situación de negocio particular.
  • Identificar las estrategias competitivas más apropiadas para cada momento de la evolución de una industria.
  • Evaluar un modelo de negocio y sus elementos centrales.
  • Identificar las transiciones más desafiantes de cara a los cambios en el contexto competitivo y entender sobre qué variables organizacionales operar.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
La Historia de las Industrias
En este primer módulo abordaremos los siguientes temas: La base tecnológica del nacimiento de una industria. La ley de Moore. El proceso de llevar las tecnologías a negocios. Impacto tecnológico en las ventajas competitivas. La demanda insatisfecha como fuerza de presiones competitivas. Crecer luego de un océano azul. Las respuestas de producto ante la maduración de una industria. Y, finalmente, a rentabilizar el portafolio de productos.

WEEK 2
La Posición Competitiva
En este segundo módulo abordaremos los siguientes temas: Crear y monetizar el valor. Curva de valor. Liderar en la industria. El rol de los costos y la diferenciación. La búsqueda de nicho vs la segmentación del mercado. Estructura de mercado. La sustentabilidad del posicionamiento competitivo. El grupo estratégico.

WEEK 3
La Velocidad a la cuál Escalar un Negocio
En esta tercera semana, abordaremos los siguientes contenidos: Los mecanismos de aislación competitiva. Mecanismos de oferta y demanda. Ventajas de primer entrante. Entrada y velocidad de crecimiento.
La tasa de difusión de un nuevo producto o servicio. Los mercados de competencia en plataformas

WEEK 4
Los Nuevos Negocios
En esta última semana abordaremos los siguientes temas: Los océanos azules. El agotamiento de la mejora incremental en la curva de valor. El ERIC. Los caminos del descubrimiento. Negocios de costo marginal cero. Soñar grande.
