We will consider what additive technologies are for the metallurgical and machine-building industries. For what purposes it is possible to use selective laser fusion, laser cladding and finally detonation spraying.

Metallurgical and Mechanical Engineering as an object of application of additive technologies. Additive technologies: what is it? Applications of additive technologies in mechanical engineering and in metallurgy. After studying the materials, you will know:

Object digitisation and 3D prototyping
3D scanning and 3D prototyping. Prototyping: value and functions. The main types of 3D prototyping: stereolithography, layer-by-layer deposition; selective laser sintering; multi-jet modeling. After studying the materials, you will know:

Application of selective laser fusion in mechanical engineering. Features of SLS, SLM and DMLS technologies. Powder materials for SLM technology. Microstructure and properties of SLM products. SLM technologies in mechanical engineering. After studying the materials, you will know:

Thermal spraying
