Mathias Weske

Professor Dr. Mathias Weske is chair of the business process technology research group at Hasso Plattner Institute of IT Systems Engineering at the University of Potsdam, Germany. His research interests include business process management, process choreographies, process modeling methodologies, and service oriented computing. During 2009, he held a Visiting Professor position at the University of California Davis. Dr. Weske has published twelve books and over 150 scientific papers in journals and conferences. He is on the steering committee of the BPM conference series, a member of ACM, IEEE, and GI. From 2006 through 2012, Dr. Weske was the chairperson of EMISA, the German Computer Science Society Special Interest Group on Development Methods for Information Systems and their Application. Dr. Weske has published a textbook on business process management. He is a co-founder of Berlin-based software company Signavio and chair person of the Business Process Management Academic Initiative, which aims at strengthening teaching and research in business process management.
