Martha Rosero-Peña

Martha C. Rosero-Peña is a Colombian researcher from the University of Florida, and also a specialist in race and ethnicity. Her dissertation on social-ecological resilience assessments with Indigenous Peoples and Afro-descendant forest societies emphasized ontology’s role during crises. Martha also holds an undergraduate degree in Animal Science and an M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Dr. Rosero-Peña has previously worked on the Chocó biogeographic region, and the Amazon with WWF, the Institute of Ethnobiology, Tropenbos Colombia, and the Colombian National Education Service. Dr. Rosero-Peña currently leads Conservation International’s work to strengthen and deepen engagement with Afro communities in the Americas on natural climate solutions and biodiversity conservation.
