Luigi Anzivino

I was born and raised in Italy, which means I have an accent and strong opinions about coffee. After 24 consecutive years of formal (some would say “rigorous”) schooling, I stumbled into a job as a Field Trip Explainer at the Exploratorium, and was thus introduced to a different philosophy of learning and teaching. My mind was blown wide open by the empowering possibilities, and I never looked back to academia. In the Tinkering Studio I get to explore ways in which we can provide museum visitors with “experiences worth having,” whether they involve messing about with science, technology, art, or all three at the same time. I am also particularly interested in how we communicate what we do, and why it’s important to have a space where it is safe to try, and fail, and try again. I am leading the development of this website and blog, as well as various online projects relating to Tinkering.
