Jean-Yves Carlier is a professor at UCLouvain and at the University of Liège (Belgium). He is also an attorney. He teaches private international law, European law and human rights law. He has given lectures as a visiting professor at various universities (Paris 2, Paris-Est Créteil, Caen, Strasbourg, Aix-Marseille, Szeged, Montreal, The Hague Academy of International Law, Rabat, Tunis, Ouagadougou, Cotonou, Bujumbura, Bukavu).
