Catherine Matthews

Catherine Matthews, J.D., Ph.D., works as a consultant and coach for staff and faculty across the multi-campus system of Indiana University. Her clients range from individual contributors to executive leaders, from small teams to system-wide schools. A certified Gallup CliftonStrengths coach, she focuses on employee engagement and professional development. Her coaching and workshops cover a wide variety of topics, including leadership development, career planning, conflict management, emotional intelligence, performance management, and trust building.
With more than a decade of teaching experience, she has taught students in undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and law school in traditional and online classrooms. She is a licensed attorney in the state of Indiana and has also served on several national not-for-profit organization boards. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Southern Illinois University, and a J.D. and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Indiana University.
