Alexander Belyakov

Alexander is an individual consultant on peace and biodiversity issues at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD). He serves as a focal point for this course under the SCBD’s Peace and Biodiversity Dialogue Initiative. He has taught Sustainability Management at Ryerson University in Canada and Environmental Journalism at the National Taras Shevchenko University in Ukraine. He was a visiting scholar at the Environmental Journalism Program at the University of California, Berkeley. Alexander wrote his Ph.D. thesis and conducted research to show that communication can be an effective tool of environmental policy. He is a Certified Sustainability Professional (ISSP-CSP).
