PlanU: escoge la mejor carrera y universidad para ti (Coursera)

Este curso fue diseñado para que el participante desarrolle herramientas para tomar decisiones de carrera y universidad de una manera segura y sistemática. Durante las próximas semanas, nuestros estudiantes, recorrerán un camino con variadas y divertidas oportunidades de aprendizaje a través de las cuales conocerán y cuestionarán diferentes aspectos del proceso de esta elección. Simultáneamente, construirán las habilidades para descubrir sus propias respuestas y elaborar planes de acción coherentes con aquello que les interesa, con sus fortalezas, retos y posibilidades.

En Plan U, hacemos una apuesta por "la toma de una decisión informada" como elemento esencial de un proceso elección de carrera y universidad. Este curso tiene como base el aprendizaje significativo y práctico, donde cada estudiante es dueño de su propio proceso y de encontrar las respuestas que más se ajustan a sí mismo, pero donde quienes lo rodean (familias, profesores, amigos) pueden acompañarlo de manera efectiva.
Plan U puede realizarse en conjunto o como complemento de proyectos escolares o personales que busquen el desarrollo de habilidades de toma de decisiones y planes de vida.

What You Will Learn

  • A saber cómo tomar decisiones informadas, que surjan de ti mismo y de lo que es realmente importante para ti.
  • A desarrolla un perfil de tí mismo (fortalezas, retos, intereses, posibilidades, etc.) e identificar las áreas que más se relacionan contigo.
  • A analizar e investigar las carreras que elijas y conocerlas a profundidad. También, las universidades donde se encuentran y cómo evaluarlas.
  • A diseñar planes de acción que estén en sintonía contigo. A ponerlos en marcha y ajustarlos según los resultados que obtengas.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
Conozco más sobre mí
En este módulo realizarás diferentes actividades que te permitirán conocer tus fortalezas, retos e intereses, centrados especialmente en lo académico. Para esto te invitamos a hacer un diagnóstico que incluya cómo te ves, cómo te ven los demás y la aplicación de una prueba de orientación profesional. Al final trabajarás en un primer perfil o descripción de ti mismo que reúna los resultados de todas estas actividades y que utilizaremos durante el curso.

WEEK 2
Áreas de estudio y programas
En este módulo esperamos que relaciones la descripción o perfil que hiciste en el módulo anterior con las áreas de estudio que vas a conocer. Para eso te invitamos a que realices diferentes actividades que te permitan direccionar tu decisión de carrera. Mantén una actitud abierta que te lleve a considerar diferentes alternativas. Cuando hayas terminado el módulo, te darás cuenta que existen carreras que tal vez no conocías y que vale la pena explorar.

WEEK 3
Universidades
En este módulo, vas a elegir las universidades que se ajusten a tus intereses, posibilidades y recursos, para la/s carrera/s que seleccionaste en el anterior módulo. Para eso, te invitamos a realizar diferentes actividades que te permitirán conocer varias opciones, direccionando la elección de universidades y construyendo un Plan A, con el que lograrás convertirte en estudiante universitario. Mantén una actitud abierta que te lleve a considerar muchas alternativas. Es probable que al finalizar este módulo hayas encontrado universidades que no conocías y que será muy interesante explorar, partiendo de "lo que te encantaría que ocurriera", es decir, la combinación ideal de carrera y universidad. Mi plan A, se define como la hoja de ruta de inscripciones que te llevarán a alcanzar la admisión y la matrícula. Pero como hay múltiples factores que influyen en ese "ideal", te invitaremos a considerar otros escenarios de donde surgirán los planes B, C y hasta Z; en otras palabras, todos los que necesites para alcanzar tu propósito de ser profesional.

WEEK 4
Los planes y decisiones que quiero para mi vida
En este módulo esperamos que relaciones toda la información que aprendiste en el curso y descubras las claves de la metodología detrás del ejercicio de tomar tus decisiones de carrera y universidad. También queremos que reflexiones sobre los planes que has elaborado y las oportunidades que se presentan frente a las decisiones que estás tomando y que te identifican como la persona que quieres construir de ti mismo. Por último, esperamos que sientas más control y tranquilidad al asumir tus decisiones, lo que viene con cada plan e incluso que hayas comprendido que puedes construir nuevas alternativas para tu vida, siempre.
