Os alunos serão mais persuasivos na redação de ensaios argumentativos, debates, apresentações orais e até mesmo na compreensão de ideias filosóficas. Você, o aluno, também estará mais bem armado para distinguir a verdade de “fatos alternativos” e “notícias falsas”, e para compreender e refutar atitudes negacionistas.
O principal objetivo deste curso é torná-lo capaz de reconhecer e refutar comportamentos irracionais e falácias (erros de raciocínio), bem como aprimorar seus próprios argumentos.

What You Will Learn
• Compreender o pensamento como um processo linguístico
• identificar e avaliar premissas, argumentos, crenças e evidências
• compreender os elementos da lógica
• compreender os conceitos de argumentos válidos, fracos, ruins e fortes
• pensar criticamente sobre os elementos da mídia, incluindo a mídia social,
questões morais e políticas

• usar raciocínio crítico para resolver problemas

Syllabus

WEEK 1: Argumentos, linguagem e lógica
WEEK 2: Os limites do argumento e os bons argumentos. Já sabemos o que deve conter num argumento: premissas + conclusão. Nesta aula vamos apresentar as diferentes classificações de argumento e sua importância, com muitos exemplos.
WEEK 3: Reparando argumentos e avaliando premissas
WEEK 4: Lógica e argumentos complexos. Neste tópico mostramos como podemos conectar afirmações para estruturar um argumento.
WEEK 5: Como generalizar e evitar erros
WEEK 6: Como evitar falácias
WEEK 7: Como raciocinar bem com analogias e números
WEEK 8: Como tomar decisões e raciocinar bem com causa e efeito
WEEK 9: Como se defender de golpes e fake news
