Glazing is an amazing technique where you apply a transparent or semi-transparent layer of paint over another thoroughly dry layer of paint. It's wonderful for creating luminous colors, as well as water and lighting effects. I’ll show you how to mix your paint to prepare a glaze as well as practical applications for applying glazes to get luminous results that you couldn't otherwise achieve by using paint opaquely.

In this class you will learn the simple process of creating beautiful and unique prints on fabric and paper using only leaves and flowers with these household items: Alum (found in the spice aisle or larger containers on Amazon); White Vinegar; Substrate of Choice (different papers, book pages, doilies, cotton fabric, muslin, etc.) I use this mixed media paper; Paint Brush or Spray Bottle; An old pot for boiling; Twine; Brick or stones to weigh down your bundles; Flowers and high tannin leaves (examples include maple, oak, birch, nut tree leaves, fruit tree leaves and herbs)
