Gain an understanding of monkeypox (mpox) and learn to identify its symptoms and signs to better protect yourself and others. Understand the epidemiology of monkeypox. Monkeypox (mpox) is a rare infectious disease that can be passed from person to person. On this two-week course, you’ll learn how to protect yourself and others as you explore the epidemiology, clinical symptoms, signs, and prevention of monkeypox. You’ll gain an understanding of the emergence of mpox before exploring the potential of this disease becoming a pandemic.

Learn to identify monkeypox symptoms
As you learn more about the mpox virus, you’ll explore the signs and symptoms of the disease and how it differs from chickenpox, smallpox, and measles.
You’ll understand the routes of transmission and the incubation and infectious period before identifying high-risk groups.

Explore monkeypox prevention and control strategies
To help protect yourself and others, you’ll learn key prevention and control strategies. This includes workplace procedures and travel advice.
Finally, you’ll learn to address the stigma surrounding the virus to ensure mpox messaging is clear but non-judgemental.
