The "Intercultural Communications in the Workplace" course is designed to equip learners with essential skills and insights for successfully navigating negotiations and communication in diverse cultural contexts. Upon completing this course, learners will possess a comprehensive understanding of cross-cultural negotiation dynamics and effective communication strategies. They will be well-equipped to navigate diverse cultural contexts, build successful business relationships, and achieve positive negotiation outcomes in an increasingly interconnected global landscape. This course empowers individuals to engage confidently and respectfully with counterparts from different cultural backgrounds, contributing to successful cross-cultural collaboration and communication.
As part of your reflection and application activities, you will develop the following transferable skills: Global Awareness, Intercultural Competence, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Cultural Intelligence, Problem-Solving, Perspective Taking, Critical Analysis, Decision-Making, Contextual Understanding.
The course is divided into 10 modules. The first module is an introduction, in which you will learn how to navigate the course, using the EdX platform and how to complete the reflective exercises both individually and within your peer group community. The last module provides a re-cap of your learning and includes a course exam.

Understanding the dynamics of Communication:

  • Recognise the different purposes of communication and analyse its levels of meaning.
  • Develop conscious awareness of verbal and non-verbal communicative cues.

Cultural Identity and Self-awareness:
