FPGA computing systems: A Bird’s Eye View on Reconfigurable Computing (POK)

Offered by Politecnico di Milano,
FPGA computing systems: A Bird’s Eye View on Reconfigurable Computing (POK)

This course is the first one of a “series”, aimed at providing a structured understanding on how the FPGAs are working and of the rationale behind the choice of them to implement a desired system. This course is for anyone passionate in learning how a hardware component can be adapted at runtime to better respond to users/environment needs.

This adaptation can be provided by the designers, or it can be an embedded characteristic of the system itself. These runtime adaptable systems will be implemented by using FPGA technologies.

This course aims to teach everyone the basics of FPGA-based reconfigurable computing systems. We cover the basics of how to decide whether or not to use an FPGA and, if this technology will be proven to be the right choice, how to program it.
You can access the course absolutely free of charge and completely online.
The course materials will still be available to all registered users for a long time, even after the closing of the edition.

An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python (Part 2) (Coursera)

This two-part course is designed to help students with very little or no computing background learn the basics of building simple interactive applications. Our language of choice, Python, is an easy-to learn, high-level computer language that is used in many of the computational courses offered on Coursera. To make learning Python easy, we have developed a new browser-based programming environment that makes developing interactive applications in Python simple.

Developing FPGA-accelerated cloud applications with SDAccel: Practice (Coursera)

This course is for anyone passionate about learning how to develop FPGA-accelerated applications with SDAccel! The more general purpose you are, the more flexible you are and the more kinds of programs and algorithms you can execute on your underlying computing infrastructure. All of this is terrific, but there is no free food and this is happening, quite often, by losing in efficiency.

Designing Hardware for Raspberry Pi Projects (Coursera)

This is course 4 of this specialization (although it can be taken out of order) and focuses on applying experience and knowledge gained in the first three courses to build physical electronics hardware. Specifically, this course focuses on four areas: circuit simulation, schematic entry, PCB layout, and 3D CAD modeling. There are many excellent commercial applications available in these areas, however to give everyone access we'll be using all free and open-source software.
