Exploration et production de données pour les entreprises (Coursera)

Ce cours fournit un cadre analytique afin de vous aider à évaluer les problèmes clés de manière structurée. Il vous procurera également des outils afin de mieux gérer les incertitudes qui envahissent et compliquent les processus des entreprises. Plus précisément, vous serez initié(e) aux statistiques et à la manière de résumer les données. Vous découvrirez les concepts de fréquence, de loi normale, d’études statistiques, de l’échantillonnage et des intervalles de confiance.

Tout en vous initiant à la science de ce qui est enseigné, nous nous concentrerons sur l’application des méthodologies. À cette fin, nous utiliserons Excel et des ensembles de données provenant de nombreuses disciplines différentes, ce qui vous permettra de découvrir l’utilisation des statistiques dans des contextes très diversifiés. Le cours se concentrera non seulement sur l’explication de ces concepts, mais également sur la compréhension de la signification des résultats obtenus.
Au terme de ce cours, vous serez en mesure :
• de résumer de grands ensembles de données sous forme de graphiques, tableaux et chiffres.
• de comprendre l’importance d’un échantillonnage adapté et pourquoi vous pouvez vous fonder sur les informations contenues dans les échantillons.
• de comprendre pourquoi la loi normale peut être utilisée dans un si grand nombre de contextes.
• d’utiliser les informations issues de l’échantillon afin de déduire des informations sur la population avec un certain niveau de confiance quant à l’exactitude des estimations.
• d’utiliser Excel pour l’analyse statistique.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
Parcours d’intégration au cours
Vous vous familiariserez avec le cours, vos camarades de classe et notre environnement d’apprentissage. Le parcours d’intégration vous aidera également à acquérir les compétences techniques requises pour le cours.
Introduction et synthèse des données
Les données sont partout autour de vous, mais que vous disent-elles ? La première étape consiste à bien comprendre les informations que vous avez recueillies afin de prendre de meilleures décisions et de mieux agir. Dans ce module, nous découvrirons quelques-uns des outils statistiques qui nous aident à atteindre cet objectif.

WEEK 2
Statistiques descriptives et lois de probabilités
Nous avons tous entendu l’expression « une image vaut mille mots », mais vous ne voulez certainement pas que l’une de ces expressions soit « qu’est-ce que je regarde exactement ? » Maintenant que vous savez utiliser des « images » afin de résumer vos données, rendons-les plus simples à comprendre.

WEEK 3
Échantillonnage et théorème de la limite centrale
Vous êtes chargé(e) d’analyser un segment de marché pour votre entreprise. Vous et votre équipe avez défini les variables que vous devez comprendre. Vous avez également une idée des facteurs qui pourraient influencer ces variables d’intérêt. Vous êtes maintenant prêt(e) à faire votre analyse. Mais, attendez ! Où sont les données ? Comment commencez-vous à obtenir les données ? Dans ce module, nous réviserons les moyens par lesquels vous pouvez commencer à produire des données (les concepts d’échantillonnage et le théorème de la limite centrale). Nous vous aiderons également à comprendre de quelle manière produire de « bonnes »données d’échantillon, ainsi que les raisons pour lesquelles les données d'échantillon fonctionneront.

WEEK 4
Inférence
Vous possédez un échantillon de données et vous avez effectué l’analyse. Vous estimez pouvoir tirer des informations sur la population en vous fondant sur l’étude de votre échantillon. Mais connaissez-vous vos chances de ne pas vous tromper ? Comment pouvez-vous être plus sûr(e) ? Qu’auriez-vous dû également prendre en considération ? Dans ce module, vous découvrirez comment trouver les réponses à ces questions.
