In this capstone course learners will integrate and synthesize knowledge gained from the four preceding courses and apply that knowledge to real-world maternal and child health scenarios nationally and globally. Learners will explore the health and well-being of adolescent girls globally, climate change, women’s economic empowerment, and maternal health in the U.S.

During this capstone experience, learners will synthesize and apply knowledge through in-depth exploration of contemporary maternal and child health challenges nationally and globally. Using problem-solving methodologies, learners will:
- examine the Girl Rising case study on the health and well-being of adolescent girls globally;
- examine the intersection between women’s health and women's labor force participation and economic empowerment;
- identify current climate change issues facing maternal and child health populations and learn to 4. communicate policy or programmatic solutions through developing an Op-Ed; and
examine black maternal health in the U.S. and develop a logic model for an evidence-based intervention.
