Prepare answers to common questions you've been asked before or that you might be asked. Start a list and add to it as you go about meeting people.
Prepare a few simple icebreakers that you can choose from depending on the situation.
In addition to practicing meeting someone in the mirror, try to practice with a real person, such as a friend or colleague. Record to video if possible and watch so that you can see how you look.

Creating a Winning Elevator Pitch

Write your personal introduction or elevator speech. Practice it so that it rolls off your tongue without thinking.
