Law Society of Scotland

The Law Society of Scotland is the professional body for over 11,000 Scottish solicitors around the world.
Our goal is to lead legal excellence by understanding and serving the needs of our members and the public. We set and uphold the standards to ensure the provision of excellent legal services and ensure the public can have confidence in Scotland’s legal profession. We also want to show the world that Scotland should be the jurisdiction they consider when they think about legal services.
We seek to influence the creation of a fairer and more just society via engaging with the Scottish and UK governments as well as the European Union. We seek to promote public legal education so that more people understand their rights under the law. One such example is offering free, open, online courses to people globally.
