Wendy C. Atieno

Wendy C. Atieno is a Programme Officer for ecosystem-based adaptation at IUCN’s Climate Change unit. She supports IUCN’s activities in nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation in Asia, Africa and Latin America in a variety of terrestrial ecosystems, working to strengthen the reciprocal relationship between global policy and action-on-ground.
She has international experience in ecosystem-based adaptation, nature-based solutions, climate policy, urban resilience and transboundary water governance as well as field and research experience in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
Wendy has a Master of Arts in global environmental policy from the American University School of International Service and a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and political science from Principia College.
