Vivian Norambuena

Vivian Norambuena is a Senior Economist in the Global Macro and Debt Analytics of the World Bank’s Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice. Previously, she was appointed Representative of Chile to the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank Group and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. She also served as Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Chile, a position she held since July 2015. She has been a Visiting Scholar in the Research Department of the World Bank and in the Strategy, Policy and Review Department of the IMF. She worked as an instructor professor in the Department of Economics at Georgetown University teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs. She was a consultant for the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, where she provided advice and technical assistance to improve and refine the joint IMF and WB Debt Sustainability Framework. She also worked as an Economist at the Central Bank of Chile and as a lecturer at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University, a Master in Macroeconomics and a BA in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
