Shannon Vallor

Shannon Vallor is the Baillie Gifford Chair in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh, where she also has an appointment in the Department of Philosophy. Professor Vallor’s work addresses the impact of emerging technologies on human moral habits, skills, and virtues, as well as on the health of social institutions. She is a former visiting AI Ethicist at Google and currently serves as Chair of the Scottish government’s Data Delivery Group.
