Sam Ouliaris

Sam Ouliaris is the former Chief of the Internal Training Unit in the IMF’s Institute for Capacity Development, which is responsible for the training of IMF economist staff. Prior to joining the Institute in 2009, he worked in the IMF’s Research Department and the Western Hemisphere Department. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University, specializing in econometrics (time-series, forecasting) and macroeconomics. Before 2011, he was also a Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore. He has been a consultant to a number of ministries in Asia, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Bank Negara Malaysia. He is a national of Australia.
