Rebecca Priestley

Dr Rebecca Priestley is a senior lecturer in the Science in Society group at Victoria University of Wellington. She has a PhD in history and philosophy of science and an honours degree in earth sciences. Rebecca has visited Antarctica twice and has written widely about Antarctic science and history in blogs and magazine articles and in her 2016 book, Dispatches from Continent Seven: an anthology of Antarctic Science. Rebecca's other books include Mad on Radium: New Zealand in the Atomic Age; The Awa Book of New Zealand Science; and Atoms, Dinosaurs and DNA. Her research and teaching focuses on the history of science and science communication in Antarctica and New Zealand. Rebecca is a co-founder of the Science in Society group at Victoria University of Wellington.
