Petra Helleger

Petra Hellegers is Professor and Chair of the Water Resources Management Group of WUR. She has extensive experience in the socio-economic analysis of water allocation decisions, and in studying the role of economic instruments in irrigation water management. She conducted research in Australia, Egypt, India, Morocco, Mozambique, South-Africa, Ukraine and Yemen. She leads a group with 18 staff members (>15 FTE) and 30 PhDs (she is first promotor for 15 PhDs) working in the fields of agricultural water management, water governance and contested knowledge.
