Matthew Shearer

Senior Specialist of the Integration & Trade Sector at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where has been employed since 2002. His core areas of work include South-South cooperation, monitoring and results frameworks for the Bank’s integration instruments, and organizing courses for the Caribbean at the IDB Capacity-Building Program on Integration and Trade. Earlier, he was part of the IDB team that provided support to the Free Trade Area of the Americas negotiations, participating as observer in the Negotiating Groups on Market Access, Agriculture, and Government Procurement. He earned an M.A. in Economics from American University. He is a co-author with Joaquim Tres of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean: Much Ado about Nothing? (2013).
