Margarida Martins

Ms. Margarida Martins is a senior economist in the Real Sector Division of the IMF Statistics Department since 2016. Her responsibilities include delivering capacity development activities on national accounts and high-frequency indicators. Margarida contributed to the update of the System of National Accounts, including as secretariat of the Globalization and Communication Task Teams, and to the update of the 2020 CPI Manual, and to the Data Gaps Initiative. Her previous assignment in Statistics Portugal included work in quarterly national accounts, short-term analysis, and surveys. Prior to that she worked as an economist in the Portuguese Public Finance Council. Margarida holds a M.A. in international economics from the University of Lisbon.
