Loïc Pellisier

Loïc Pellisier is a distinguished researcher with expertise in ecology, evolution, and landscape dynamics, with a primary focus on understanding biodiversity patterns and their connection to ecosystems. He has made significant contributions to the field through his work on the impact of climate change on terrestrial and marine ecosystems. His current research objectives revolve around improving biodiversity modeling techniques across landscapes and enhancing biodiversity monitoring technologies to track ecosystem changes.
As a Professor of Ecosystems and Landscape Evolution at the Institute of Terrestrial Ecosystems at ETH Zurich and WSL since 2015, Loïc Pellisier has developed a research agenda to study biological agents and landscapes across various spatial and temporal scales. He develops theories spanning from geology to biology to gain mechanistic insights into biodiversity patterns and their evolution.
