Kai-Uwe Schröder

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai-Uwe Schröder exhibits nearly twenty years of experience in the field of structural design. He worked in the R&D departement of various companies and was included in many projects in the aerospace and automotive as well as in the construction industry. Since 2014 he is the head of the institute of structural mechanics and lightweight design at the RWTH Aachen University. His areas of research currently includes the developement of modular satelite systems, the design of Personal Air Vehicles and the research on smart structures and their digital twins. In addition to his academic career, Professor Schröder has co-founded several of his own companies.
