John Yuen

Dr John Yuen is a biomedical scientist with training in pathology in Hong Kong and the US and holds the professional qualification in Medical Laboratory Science. Aside from this, he is a Chartered Scientist and Fellows of the Royal Society of Biology and the Royal Society for Public Health in the United Kingdom. In university, he teaches human anatomy and pathophysiology to healthcare programs. He is one of the pioneers in HKPolyU who adopted the flipped classroom pedagogy and is interested in inventing innovative teaching pedagogues through understanding the learning analytics. To facilitate student learning and research, he has led a team and developed a stereoscopic 3-Dimension anatomical visualizer in HKPolyU. In research, John is an expert in bladder cancer and immunotherapy who also has looked into research assessing the health status of different diseased and high-risk populations, especially in areas of urology and men’s health. In university administration, he serves as the Co-chair of the Advisory Committee on eLearning and Leader of the Community of Practice for Massive Opened Online Courses (MOOCs) and Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs).
