Isabelle Platten

Isabelle Platten is a mathematician, an actuary and holds a PhD in Management Science from the University of Lille II (France). As a professor at the Louvain School of Management of the Université catholique de Louvain, she teaches finance in various courses and programmes, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her main research interests are related to market microstructure and risk management, with a specific focus on financial regulation, in particular the implications for insurance companies of the new Solvency II European directive. She acts as a consultant for several insurances companies and banks. Her papers have been presented at academic and practitioner conferences and published in various refereed journals such as International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance, Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications or Banque & Marchés and Revue de la Banque - Bank en Financiewezen.
