Grégoire Castella

Greg heads the Humanitarian Division of EPFL EssentialTech Center, an initiative supporting humanitarian organizations to better harness science and technology to increase their impact. He worked several years for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in different regions affected by armed conflicts. He worked in a variety of roles at the intersection between humanitarian innovation, social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. He is the co-founder of Watalux SA, a social start-up active in the field of water. He also coordinated several innovation initiatives for MSF Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Life Science from the University of Lausanne.
