Cherri Ryan

Dr Cherri Ryan (née Willemse) is a Lecturer in Clinical Sciences and Course Coordinator in the University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program. She worked in clinical medicine for seventeen years and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Cherri has also been a Medical Educator since 2000, designing, delivering and evaluating education for many health professionals and students. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at UQ in 1993 and has a Graduate Certificate Health Studies (Community Child & Adolescent Health) and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment. Cherri’s special interests include effective quality medical education, children’s health and respiratory health and she has worked with Asthma Australia, Asthma Foundation QLD/NSW, and Lung Foundation Australia.
Cherri has been a health columnist and is an author of children’s stories, with themes of joy, persistence and courage. She is inspired by the bravery of children and families she has cared for throughout her career.
