Benjamin Figgis

Dr. Figgis is a research program manager at the Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute, part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. He manages the Solar Test Facility (STF), a 35000 m2 outdoor test site for PV and solar thermal technologies, and his research focus is on PV soiling. Dr. Figgis helped establish and operate the STF from 2009 to 2014 with Chevron Qatar, and for the preceding five years was involved in setting up the Qatar Science & Technology Park. He has BEng and BSc degrees from the University of Western Australian, MEng from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Strasbourg.
