Ms. Asmaa El-Ganainy is Deputy Division Chief at the IMF Institute for Capacity Development. Previously, she worked on IMF surveillance and program countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. She also contributed to IMF research and capacity development activities. She is a co-author of a forthcoming Oxford University (OUP) book on “In Defense of Public Debt”, and co-editor of another upcoming OUP book on “How to Achieve Inclusive Growth”. Her research interests are in the areas of sovereign debt, public finance, labor economics, and capital flows.
