Asel Isakova

Asel Isakova is a Kyrgyz national and holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She is an Economist at the Joint Vienna Institute, having joined in 2013. During Dr. Isakova’s work at the JVI, she taught a number of courses, including Financial Programming and Policies, Macroeconomic Diagnostics, and Macroeconomic Management in Resource-Rich Countries. Prior to joining the JVI, she worked at the Office of the Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. She has authored and co-authored a number of research papers on various issues, including management of natural resources, structural reforms, and international trade.
