Anna Cristina Pertierra

Anna is a Lecturer in Anthropology in the School of Social Science at the University of Queensland. Her research is on the role of media in everyday life. Her main current project examines the cultural and political impact of entertainment television in three countries: Cuba, Mexico and the Philippines. Other research interests include changing new media practices, girls' engagement with visual media, and the use of ethnographic methods to study mass media and popular culture. World101x will follow Anna into her field to explore the issues, the people she works with and their place in the world.
