Amir Abdallah

After completing his MSc in mechanical engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Dr. Abdallah obtained his PhD in Material Science from Eindhoven University of Technology. He has industrial experience in fabrication of silicon solar cells. This includes process optimization and characterization. In addition, he gained experience in tackling the electronic properties of amorphous silicon thin film solar cells. As a scientist at Hamad Bin Khalifa's Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), Dr. Abdallah is working on different projects dealing with Photovoltaic (PV) module performance and reliability. He is working in establishing an indoor testing laboratory besides focusing on the development of additional tests and standards for desert PV module. Dr. Abdallah is also contributing to the development of silicon heterojunction solar cell by reducing the parasitic absorption and improving the cell temperature coefficients.
