Being a practicing physician, specialized and certified in Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, Dr. Alexei Birkun hold a position of Assistant Professor and Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care to impart his knowledge and clinical experience to medical and graduate students. He develops and presents lectures, conducts group discussions and skills training sessions for the aforementioned medical specialities. Alongside this, he is actively involved in ongoing research with particular scientific interests relevant to Clinical Respiratory Medicine. Dr. Birkun defended his Ph.D. thesis in Pathophysiology in 2015.
