Alberto F. Jiménez de Lucio

Alberto F. Jiménez de Lucio is an economist and business administrator. He holds a Master’s degree and is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics from Cornell University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. He worked for 15 years as an economist and manager in the Economic Studies Division of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. He later joined the World Bank, where he worked four and a half years as Project Manager for Mexico and Central America. He later joined the International Monetary Fund as an Alternate Executive Director. Afterwards he became an IMF long-term expert in Tonga, acting as General Advisor to the Governor of the central bank. In late 1996 he joined the Statistics Department, where he spent 20 years working as Senior Economist in the Government Finance Division, providing technical assistance and training to IMF member countries. He is the author of the Government Finance Statistics Compilation Guide for Developing Countries. Since 2018, Mr. Jiménez de Lucio has worked as a global economic consultant. His most recent assignments include being project manager and developer for the development of the IMF’s online course on government finance statistics.
