Aaron Striegel

Aaron Striegel is currently an Associate Professor and serves as Associate Chair in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. He received his Ph.D. in December 2002 in Computer Engineering at Iowa State University under the direction of Dr. G. Manimaran. Striegel's research interests focus on instrumenting the wireless networked ecosystem to gain insight with respect to user behavior and global network performance. Further research interests include computer security and the adaptation of low-cost wireless gaming peripherals for rehabilitation. Striegel is an author or co-author on over 85 publications including numerous journal articles and his group has released or significantly contributed to over fourteen open source software packages. During his career at Notre Dame, Striegel has received three best paper awards (including one focused on the cellular instrumentation), a 2004 National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award, been a participant in two National Academy Symposia (Frontiers of Engineering Education (2012), Informed Brain in Digital World (2012)), an Iowa State ECpE Early Career Impact Award (2010), and a Notre Dame CSE Teacher Faculty Award (2006).
