Draw a journey you know well!
ASSIGNMENT
Your assignment is to visually communicate a journey.
Tip 1:Draw a journey you take often. This might be your daily commute to work, trip to the gym, or walk to your favorite coffee shop. Choosing something you visit a few times a week will ensure all the "data" is quickly available in your own head.
Tip 2:Don't get too caught up in the mind map. Map for just 5 minutes, then get drawing! You can always add to your map later. If you're feeling stuck, consider modes of transportation, factors that change your approach/route, and notable landmarks.
Tip 3:Challenge yourself to create 3-5 drawings. Just like in the class lessons, it took me a few tries before I found my favorite "drawn story." And experiment! You can use my bar charts as inspiration, but feel free to try Venn diagrams, pie charts, line graphs, or something totally new.
Most importantly, have fun, share your progress early and often, and exchange feedback with each other. This is an awesome opportunity for us to discover new ways to unlock the power of drawing.
