In this short course series, Skillshare users will be able to confidently use basic Adobe Photoshop tools to create simple and elegant edits. They will be able to adjust photos, add text, and save to different formats as well as apply more advanced skills such as layer editing and blurs. No prior experience is required, as this is a completely beginner course and we will be touching on the basics of Adobe Photoshop.
After the course, students are free to experiment on their own with more advanced techniques as this course is meant to set a basic foundation for further self-improvement and discovery. The skills learned in this course are relevant to everyday life and can be used to edit simple social media posts and to edit photographs.
Take a photo of yourself or someone you admire on your smartphone or download a photo, it can be Bill Gates if you like, and upload to Photoshop. Once uploaded, cut out the subject from the photo and put them into a different scene – you can photoshop them into a sports car, at the grocery store, at a protest for global climate change. Adjust lighting and layers appropriately. Include text in the photo with an interesting fact or the subject’s name. When you’re done, share your creation with the class! I’d love to help you and see your artwork!
